Tattoos! The latest 'must have'. However if my body is a temple (and it is) why would I want graffitti plastered over it (even if they sanitise it by calling it 'body art') ? So it's a no no in Rick's world.

Tatoos are stupid.

Reality shows are stupid.

Twittering is stupid.

These things are popular with the Rednecks.

Are we surprised?

No.

My wise old woman neighbor describes tatoos, especially regarding females, as "tramp stamps."

I've never found them attractive and they are certainly not art.

I would like to get one, but I can't think of anything that I would want, except perhaps a Japanese koi fish. Are Japanese tattoos considered to be a redneck tramp stamp?

I really like them, I love how they look. Every tattoo I got I waited at least a year, sometimes up to three years thinking about it. Once you get it, it's there forever. I will get more, eventually.

If you get one I suggest you think about one thing. What does it mean to you? Don't just get a pretty picture or think about what others will think or say. The tattoo is for you and only you.

Most people who look at my tattoos freak out. I have three that have to do with my country of birth, which I hold in my heart in a way people would think is stupid. The other two are of Che Guevara and the Devil. These two get colourful reactions when seen. I tried to keep them covered when possible for obvious reasons.

Oh come on.....let's stop with the dancing.

In all my life, I can never remember seeing a person with a tattoo and thinking more highly of them for it.

I feel varying degrees of pity.

Not much for the motorcycle gang member.

Quite a lot for the pathetic fat lady who appears to think it will make someone think she looks sexy and forget that she weighs 300 pounds.

Why doesn't she just deal with her problems instead of trying to hide behind a tattoo?

Oh yeah.....Angelena Jolie has tattoos. So?

So movie stars and rock starts and super athletes get a lot of tattoos?

I also see that one of them kills him or herself every few days......or uses steroids or beats his wife or kills puppies.

Poor bastards.

At best it's a low self-esteem problem......at worst it's self-hate and self-destruction.

Pax!

That's a bit extreme. What happened to not judging?

I don't remember thinking whether you would feel more highly of me while I was getting a tattoo.

Even though I've said it's not my thing I have to admit that I have thought about getting one from time to time. I just don't see any that appeal to me though and I know I would regret getting one if I did.

Doc, Those were funny!

Oh yeah, those "Fat with tatts" are everywhere these days - masses of foul mouthed blubberies and on the bicep or should blade a blob of blue ink that makes them suddenly wonderfully attractive.

Not judging??? Everybody judges. Nothing wrong with it. Perhaps straight talk will help someone avoid this recent fascination with self-mutilation. That's cool.

I can believe that you don't remember thinking while getting a tattoo. People who think don't get them.

"Fat with Tatts."

Suddenly shapely.

Miracle thinning ink.
