Just curious...has anyone here actually gotten this flu? Or do you know anyone who has?

We had several schools in our area closed because of a case or two of the flu, but I haven't known any adults who got it.

If you have cats, beware.....

I've had it. As soon as it was mentioned I told pals I would get it. In time I got the thing. It was no big deal - just a mild flu but the cough lingered for a few weeks and I was fatigued for a month. now I'm back running. Curiously enough - I got it during a lull in the golden brew regime. Ho hum.

I haven't been on the Golden Brew routine......but I haven't been sick since 2006.....when I retired and entered semi-hermithood.

It's more about being a hermit than the Golden Brew. I do get a flu shot every year, and I wash my hands a lot.....especially when I get home after going out......but I think my usual isolation plus plenty of exercise is the main reason I don't get sick. Oh, another thing is that I have a steam bath and use it several times a week.....and a good steam bath will kill any germs that are lurking (it simulates a fever and kills germs).

I will keep getting my flu shots, though.

So the Swine Flu is back?

Hope they get a vaccine perfected quickly and add it into this year's shot.

Pax!
8-)

Beware ANY supposed swine flu vaccine. (That's my gut talkin' so take my "advice" any way you like it.)

Personally, I'm highly suspect of any rush of the government to produce a vaccine ... as I am also suspect of this alleged swine flu "pandemic" in the first place. If more people die off -- that's less people that need looking after, eh? And what better way to rid the earth of a few hundred million than w/ a supposed vaccine against an already (supposed) pandemic? I'm not saying the flu isn't real -- what I am saying is what better way to get rid of a lot of "logistical" problems should the earth have further financial meltdown -- which all relevant signs seem to indicate is true -- than to have a few hundred million LESS people on the planet to have to feed, clothe and shelter, keep employed and keep from civil unrest (because there aren't enough resources, or will, to provide those three very important things)?

Like I said, it's my gut talkin' here ...

Naomi

don't trust any of them. The last Swine flu pandemic did not catch the public imagination and no one died except 26 folks who had contaminated vaccinations. Reckon the timing is better for this one - 'they' want the world's population down to half a billion and AIDS and these concocted viruses will do lots of the work for 'them'

Remember: They ARE all mad.

Like I said: Run for the hills before you let anyone "infect" you with their swine flu vaccine. Article in Daily Mail Today

In addition, and even better, start building up your immune system right now by increasing by 5- to 8-fold the amount of RAW (fresh from the earth, uncooked) fruits and vegetables you eat daily. If you can afford "E-3 Live" from Klamath Lake, throw that into your budget too. (Next to wheat grass juice, fresh water, single-celled algae is the HUGEST immune booster/cell healer of all green -- chlorophyl-laden -- plant foods.)

And if you have access to real organic food (which is getting harder and harder since the USDA took over w/ their watered-down version of the standards -- switching off the California standard) -- eat that as much as possible. Just do your best to increase the live, fresh fruits/veggies -- however best you can get ahold of them. Life yields life.

I get all the vitamins and minerals I need from my nightly wine.

Wine, chicken soup and a lot of exercise will get you a long way.

and morning golden brew will set you up a treat - the apres vino zest is especially welcome.
