I know it seems logical, but I wonder if all overweight people eat more than thin people. I remember when I was in my teens I could literally eat all day and ever weigh more than 125 pounds. At 6' tall, people kindly described as "skinny."

Now I weigh around 176 pounds and people don't say I'm fat, but I have been up to 220 before. But if the truth be told I eat less in one day today than I ever did when I was 19 or 20, even when I weighed over 200 lbs.

I think the premise of this article perhaps needs more research.

Starvation diets only work if you show Hungry who's boss. Luv the commercial.

I'm on meds for a thyroid condition. (137mg if that influences anything) Weight loss is almost impossible and I'm eating less at each meal - which is twice daily intake. I walk but don't run, use a treadmill and really don't get hungry until I smell food. I stay away from food bar resturants and from snaks and soda.

I need to lose 30 lbs.

What else can I do to lose these fatty patties?

I'm reading a book that says that obese people are not lazy, slothful, over consumers, but are only doing what their bodies are programed to do. They eat to gain weight because their bodies for some reason are in a survival mode and their bodies want to be fat. The idea of the book is to reprogram the body to get into thin=safe mode.

I'm reprograming with a liquid diet of juices, soups(occasionally) and a large glass of water beforehand. I've lost 3lbs. this week. Supposedly when my body adjust to this regiment the pounds will fly off quickly. One thing is that I feel better, not as sluggish. Dr. says I gotta get my thyroid under control or else. What else I asked. "You die" he said. At least he didn't mince words. I laughed about it but he said, "seriously, you could die". But hey, we're all gonna die sooner or later. I suppose I'll fall somewhere in between but my goal is 100. Can you imagine Jedi, I'll be a living fossil.

Thank you Jedi, I'm sure I'll live to lose this extra baggage. :)
