There are some weird looking little creatures running around my backyard. I can't identify them as I've found no pictures to relate to them. Do you think that enviroment has produced these weird looking insects? Maybe fertilizer as farmers spread it on their fields? Or the stuff they use to combat beetles etc., would that influence a next generation of insect change, a metamorphisis or whatever?
I've noticed that snakes never change into anything other than their usual sneakie snake kind in rattlers, boa's, moccasins, etc. Why is that? Why does enviromental stuff like poisons never affect snakes and maybe even lizards?

ok, did you know that a fly can carry the DNA of a dinosaur? Heard it on the Scfi channel or was it the History channel. Doesn't matter. So why aren't the science people cutting up worms for the same reason?

Adaptation and natural selection... Not mutation.

Thank you Manya. Just the answer I was looking for.
What do you think about the newly dicovered "link" called "Ida"? Will "she" really change the mind of the scientific community forever?

LOL...
I don't think it will Roselyn. The minds of the scientific community has been revolutionized with the discovery of evolution long ago. Things have been continuously made more concrete since then. I don't see anything that will prove contrary to our current conclusions or change many minds.
But that's my opinion. Time will tell.

WEll Manya, this is supposed to be a new revolutionary find. A find that will change the thought of science. I watched the "Missing Link" and the 43 million year old fossil called Ida, (named after the scientist daughter), the information was somewhat interesting but not anything to get excited about. It seems no one can figure out which classification Ida belongs, chimps or lema's. She was found in the 1980's in a slim pit in Germany and the guy who found her encased her in some gooie stuff that hardened. Ida remained in his fossil drawer for over 20 years, until, it was time to sell her for over a million bucks. Of course the scientist who was first contacted couldn't afford that amount of cash so he went and brought in a few more scientist investors. Now Ida belongs to him and she is intact, the most perfectly perserved fossil ever. Now, what's so special about Ida other than her age? I could not figure out if it was her five fingers and toes that enabled her to grasp or the ankle bones or the stomach contents of seeds and leaves. And she was young, and had 32 teeth. She has a long tail so what does that mean? I guess we're back to the chimps and the one that escaped and stood upright and waved bye bye to his tribe. But who did he find to mate with? I think he died of a broken heart, and so, just where does that put man's evolution? Personally, I'm sticking to the alien connection. It's much more easily understood. I'm being silly, but if you want to check out the stuff about Ida, go to historychannel.com

I'm gonna be cremated and have my ashes thrown all over your rich oil field.

I'm ok with that. Just so it happens soon.

I will look it up though.
