In all the excitement of politics, we must remember that it makes no difference who wins--because nothing important will change for the better.

So if you think Ontario is the answer, you should start the paperwork, because it makes no difference who wins.......things are going to change.

Things are going to get worse.

I hope you're wrong on this one, Logos...but you do have recent history to give weight to your prediction... :geek:

Sola, can you give me a character reference?

IT,

I would like to recommend the following two books to you - they should help you breeze by the admittance test. (When I came in '82 they were still screening for intestinal parisites.)

How to be a Canadian (even if you already are one) by Will Ferguson and Ian Ferguson. It covers things like language, wasting time, mating rituals, getting lost, beer, responsible government and twelve ways to say "I'm sorry". (I'm sorry to say this, but nobody appologizes as well as a Canadian.)

THen to pass your citizenship test:
Bastards and Boneheads by Will Ferguson - everything you wanted to know about our past PMs - including the juicy bits.

I don't know if they would take a character reference from me anymore as last year I had a library book outstanding for two weeks. Sorry.

Nope. I don't care what you think or how you see things. Carry on, my man.

You say that Obama and McCain are crappy choices......in truth, they are pretty much irrelevant.

That's the same thing.

Your post seems to imply that there is a good choice.......so, do tell.....who would that good choice be?

Why because you think that if there's a crappy choice, then an alternative must exist? Use whatever word you want. "Crappy," "irrelevant," it doesn't matter. I don't know that there is a "good" choice.

Oh.......wouldn't I have FUN!!!

(And my cabinet would definitely be chosen from this forum.)

But......I know that such a thing could never happen.

Presidents are carefully chosen to give the people hope while maintaining the status quo.

That will never change.

Yes.....which would make you the Secretary of Defense.

As Commander in Chief I would immediately start a transition to settling disputes by throwing pies at each other.

We would need a huge shipment of pies to Iraq and Afghanistan immediately, so I hope you're ready.

I'm not so sure Logos...we have had some presidents that did make a change for the better...JFK and LBJ for their work in civil rights and I believe it was Truman that as commander-in-chief stopped racism in the military after WWll...she also flew with a black officer at Tuskeggy that started much.

We have fallen so far after 8 years of total failed policies that anything would be better than more of the same Mcidiot...you and I aren't that far apart age wise and I've never experienced a President that screwed up everything he touched, how about you.

This is the first time in my life I have watched the DNC and am impressed...Michelle Obama is quite a woman and will be an asset to her husband and hillery did well last night.

I'm looking forward to Joe Biden and Bill Clinton tonight...should be quite a butt kickin for Bush and his sidekick.

I watched the convention. Thought Hilary could have delivered more of a power punch against McCain. But she did encourage her 18m supporters to vote for Obama, and gave a "No Way, No How, No McCain" theme to adhere to.

Then Bill last night delivered a terrific speech and power punch against McSame. And Biden was excellent in his comparison of Obama's higher standard of politics than the failure of McCain as Bush's butt-licker, so to speak. Eight years of failure is all the Republicans have to run on. Lets hope they do not get four more years.

I'm impressed with Michelle Obama also. She has definetly worked hard to get where she is, unlike nose-in-the-air Cindy McSnake who has done nothing except inherit her wealth. And Johnny boy got his wealth handed to him via her lavish unpoverished richness. Like the Bushes, these snobbish Republicans haven't a clue as to the real working world of average people.

Now, I am surprised that these Democrats did not go all out and attack Bush and Cheney on their lies for excuse to pre-empt a war. I'm surprised that the Democrats have not attacked them without remorse, calling them what they are - war criminals and guilty of high crimes and misdemeanors against the constitution, and therefore willingly and knowningly causing the death of 4000+ American troops plus over 500,000 innocent Iraqi lives.

We'll see if Democratic avoidance of this Iraqi blunder and soft-pedaling their economic strategy will actually work. From the way I see it at the moment, the only thing and strongest point that has boosted their ability to win is the fact that Obama was right in not voting for pre-emptive war, and McCain was wrong. If the Democrats are not willing to ride that wagon, and attack Bush and the Republican administration and thus McCain, where then is the change? If McCain can keep Obama sidetracked away from the fact that Bush and his administration lied to the American people, then McCain just might sweep the Democrats under the rug for another four years.

And let us not forget Larry Craig and other Republicans who the Democrats should drag through the streets of Washington in full view of America. Strip the GOP naked, show their hypocrisy, their "Christian" belief, and give them hell.

IF the Democrats don't win in November, I will never waste my time voting again. I want to see blood and guts of Republicans strown throughout the viewing world. I'm sick to my stomach of these warmongering hated filled, snarled faced, uneducated and demented sociopaths. Which means I do not want to see by-partisanship. I want to see CHANGE. :D
